Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority calls on its taxpayers to benefit from the initiative to cancel fines and exempt from financial penalties
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority called on all taxpayers subject to tax systems to hasten to benefit from the initiative to "cancel fines and exempt from financial penalties", which ends on December 31, 2024.
The Authority explained that the initiative includes exempting taxpayers from fines for late registration in all tax systems, late payment, and late submission of the declaration in all tax systems, in addition to the fine for correcting the declaration for value-added tax, fines for field control violations related to the application of electronic invoicing provisions, and other general provisions of value-added tax.
She added that to benefit from the initiative, the taxpayer must be registered in the tax system, submit all required returns to the Authority, and pay the full principal of the tax debt related to the due tax returns, with the possibility of submitting a request to the Authority to pay it in installments, provided that the request is submitted during the validity of the initiative and that all due installments are paid within their due dates according to the installment plan approved by the Authority, stressing that the initiative does not include fines related to tax evasion violations, and fines that were paid before the effective date of this initiative. The Authority called on taxpayers to review the details through the simplified guide for the initiative, available on its website, which includes a detailed explanation of the most important aspects of the decision to extend the initiative to cancel fines and exempt from financial penalties, including clarifying the types of fines included and the conditions for exemption from them, and the steps for paying financial dues in installments, in addition to identifying the field control violations covered by the initiative, with illustrative examples of that. The Authority urged all taxpayers to benefit from the extension of the initiative during the specified period, which ends at the end of next December, and to contact it if there are any inquiries about the initiative via the unified call center number (19993), which operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, or the "Ask Zakat, Tax and Customs" account on the X platform (@Zatca_Care), or via email (info@zatca.gov.sa), or instant chats via the Authority's website (zatca.gov.sa).
